Hi all,
I am traveling out of the country for a few months this summer and am looking for a cell phone that will not cost a lot but that works on the 900 mhz network bandwidth. Ideally, I would like a quad band phone that will work both in the U.S. and abroad, but I believe that they cost a lot more than just getting a cheaper phone that just works outside the U.S. I will probably be making frequent trips also, so it would be nice to have one cell phone for everywhere.
For any of you who travel internationally, which phones do you recommend, and what is a good option for international SIM cards that do not have a high per-minute rate? I have an IPhone, but it is locked to Sprint, which I understand is a CDMA network rather than a GSM network, and CDMA networks do not work outside of the U.S. Otherwise, I would use my IPhone, but I would probably have to get a completely new, unlocked IPhone for it to work in another country, which will be expensive.
Any suggestions from any travelers here?
